Louise Adkins
What is your role within LINC?
I am the Gloucester Office Co-ordinator based in the Edward Jenner Unit of Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
My role is to provide admin support to the LINC team based in Cheltenham; to play an integral role in the organising and delivering of fundraising events; to raise the profile of the charity in Gloucester and surrounding areas by going out into the community; to support external fundraisers with sponsorship and fundraising and lastly to be a point of contact for patients who visit the Edward Jenner Unit and also for the staff who work there.
How long have you worked at LINC?
I started with LINC in January 2012.
Why do you work for LINC?
I have always ‘done my bit’ for charity by arranging fundraising events for big national charities. Working for LINC has given me the opportunity to see first-hand how we can help and support patients that are being cared for in our local hospitals.
Highlights of the Job
I am very much a people person so primarily for me it’s meeting patients that we have been able to help.
Having contact with the nursing staff to help support the needs of their dept and liaising with the Cheltenham office to fulfil these needs.
Also I am renowned for my organisational skills and my knowledge of spreadsheets and mail merges.
