Snowdrop Teas
LINC was very fortunate to be chosen as one of the charities to benefit from the Snowdrop weekends at Colesbourne, the home of Sir Henry and Lady Carolyn Elwes. The idea is that the chosen charity organises tea and cake for the visitors over their particular weekend.
Slightly anxious that we would need to provide at least 1000 slices of cake we sent an appeal to our supporters asking if they could help. We need not have worried – we were overcome with the kindness and generosity of everyone from baking cakes and helping with pouring tea, washing up and keeping the cake trays supplied.
Over the weekend the takings for LINC were a magnificent £1,980. As people were charged a standard £2 for tea and cakes you can see that we were very near our estimate of the required 1000 slices.
LINC would like to thank everyone who so kindly produced one or more cakes and to all the helpers who worked extremely hard over the two days. Not forgetting our grateful thanks to Sir Henry and Lady Carolyn Elwes for giving us this wonderful opportunity.
