Gill Rouse - Chair

Gill Rouse is a co-founder of LINC and has been chair of the Trustees since we attained charitable status in 1999.

She has worked in the haematology department since 1979 and has guided LINC from the beginning and been instrumental in organising the Charity Concerts featuring Josae Carreras & Bryn Terfel (2003) Dame Kiri Te Kanawa (2005) and Lesley Garrett (2007). From January 2009 she will devote her time to LINC when she retires from clinical practice.

He then switched careers completely and became involved in the cruise industry, starting from humble beginnings with Fred Olsen Lines before going on to become Commodore and Chairman of Fourwinds Cruises, then the most successful cruise ship charter company in the UK. He retired nearly 20 years ago and now divides his time between Willoughby House, one of Cheltenham’s leading hotels, which he owns, and his second home in Queensland, Australia. He has been a LINC Trustee since November 2007.

Sally Pullen

Sally is delighted to be involved with LINC as it is an organisation, led by physicians, who work closely with the patients and so fully understand their needs. Formerly she has been a county magistrate, a Non-Executive Director and Mental Health Manager with East Gloucestershire NHS Trust, a member of the House Committee of the Sue Ryder Home at Leckhampton Court and secretary of the Cotswold Branch of the NSPCC.

Currently, she is a Governor of the Barnwood House Trust, a Parish Councillor, secretary of the Friends of Gloucester Three Choirs Festival and has been a member of WRVS meals-on-wheels scheme for nearly thirty years. This service was established locally by her mother, so there is an element of being genetically programmed in that respect. Her husband is a local farmer and she has two married children and four dear young grandchildren. Sally has always believed that trying to help the local community is an important and worthwhile thing to do - and it is good fun.

Sally became a Trustee of LINC in April 2007.

I graduated from Imperial College with a Microbiology Degree but took the family route and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. I joined the management team at Cheltenham General Hospital as their accountant in 1988 and have stayed within the hospital ever since.

In the mid 1990s I decided to broaden my horizons and move into management. I completed the Regional Senior Management Qualification and started out as the manager of the Oncology Centre. Sine then my remit has gradually broadened and I am now a Divisional Director for Gloucestershire Hospitals Trust.

I have won the Gloucester Marathon 6 times and still take my sport seriously representing Team GB in Duathlon (Cycling & Running) as an 'age grouper' (50-55 year old).
