LINC Charity Golf Day at Lilley Brook Golf Club
The LINC Golf Day this year was held on Wednesday 1st July at Lilley Brook Golf Club. It was a blazing hot summer’s day which did cause concerns about dehydration and sunburn. Fortunately with supplies of water being delivered across the course, and available sunscreen these dangers were averted.
In the end thirteen teams competed. A couple of teams had to pull out at the last minute for reasons beyond their control. We were delighted to welcome Sir Geoff Hurst as our celebrity player and had offered an auction for 2 people to join his team. These places were swiftly taken up by Nick Hovey of UKKO who then very generously agreed to sponsor the whole event.
Congratulations to Evans Jones who were the winners this year and to Bob Ovens for getting a hole in one on the 11th.
The event raised £2,500 for LINC and we are very grateful to all those who took part and to Lilley Brook Golf Club for their support.
