Emma Corrie Takes on the 24 hour 3 Peaks Challenge

Our thanks to Emma Corrie who took part in the 3 Peaks 24 hour Challenge raising money for LINC and Help for Hero’s.

Emma Corrie who works at Gloucester Royal Hospital in the Haematology Department took part in this years 24 hour 3 Peaks Challenge to raise funds for Help for Heroes and LINC.

Emma said "The 3 peaks challenge on 28th/29th of August was sadly cut short after the second peak, scarfell pike because the driver had been terribly sick while we were climbing, so disappointedly I had to abort the attempt to finish as it was necessary to get him back to Gloucestershire.

With everybody's support with the donations I decided to give the 3 peaks a second attempt which was last weekend, I was with a different crew this time, and I decided we should hire a car and drive ourselves. This made the challenge the hardest challenge I've done to date as I realised it wasn't the problem of the mountains but the staying alert of the driving. Anyway, I'm pleased to say we did complete the 3 peaks successfully, 23 hours 40 mins.

I like to thank everybody for the support and understanding during the 3 week gap between the two climbs and like to thank Elizabeth Corrie (my mother) for supporting me at the CGH site with regards to donations and sending everyone updates and I would also like to thank to the other two guys (Tom and Sven) who came with me on my 2nd attempt and helped me finish the challenge."

So far Emma has raised £365.00 online, visit Emma's fundraising page
